College Sports Communicators Partners with UniUSA

CSC will have two seats on the board of directors of UniUSA, which represents the United States in prestigious global sporting events.

GREENWOOD, IND. – College Sports Communicators and UniUSA today announced a partnership that will provide CSC with two representatives on UniUSA’s board of directors.

UniUSA represents the United States in and secures collegiate competitors for prestigious global sporting events, including the FISU World University Games, Championships, and FISU America Games.

CSC will be positioned alongside related sports governing bodies with UniUSA board positions, including the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

“Joining UniUSA is an incredible opportunity for CSC to support collegiate athletes on the international stage while providing our association’s communications insight and expertise,” said Will Roleson, CSC Interim Executive Director. “It is a natural fit for CSC to work in partnership with representatives of other sports governing bodies. We are excited to begin this relationship as we promote the value of sports communicators while helping advance the mission of UniUSA.”

Representing CSC on the UniUSA board will be Roleson and Executive Board Secretary Jeff Hodges. Opportunities may also be made available for CSC members to support UniUSA in between and during the various international competitions.

“We are thrilled to announce this exciting partnership between UniUSA and College Sports Communicators,” said Dan Guerrero, UniUSA President. “By combining our expertise and shared commitment to promoting excellence, we aim to enhance the branding and visibility of our student-athletes and coaches through this collaboration. This partnership emphasizes our dedication to elevating the impact and reach of college sports programs globally, and we look forward to the innovative opportunities this joint effort will bring.”

Upcoming events for which UniUSA will provide athletes include the 2025 FISU World University Games Winter in Torino, Italy, in January and the 2025 FISU World University Games Summer in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, in July.

The United States will host the 2029 FISU World University Games Summer in the Research Triangle of North Carolina. For the 2029 games, more than 7,000 athletes from 150 countries and 600 universities are expected to participate with nearly 2,000 medals in 18 sports and 275 events to be awarded over 12 days.  The event also expects 600,000 spectators and 1,500 national and international media members.

CSC member Tyler Price, assistant commissioner of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, has served as an ad-hoc member of UniUSA in communications since 2021.
