Embracing the FISU motto of "Excellence in Mind and Body," this edition of the FISU World University Games goes beyond sports competitions, incorporating educational and cultural elements. It encourages student-athletes to seamlessly blend high sports performance with intellectual pursuits, fostering a holistic development approach.
The twelve-day competition program features fifteen compulsory sports, with organizers having the flexibility to include up to three optional sports from the FISU Recognized Sports list and the FISU World University Championships program, reflecting a commitment to staying at the forefront of sports development and innovation.
The Rhine Ruhr region, comprising five cities—Dusseldorf, Mulheim An Der Ruhr, Duisburg, Essen, and Bochum—will host this prestigious event. With 18 sports on display, the games promise an exciting and diverse showcase of athletic talent. As the largest global multi-sports event for student-athletes, it is expected to bring together over 10,000 participants and officials from more than 150 countries.
